About The Role

The UC Engineering Consultant’s primary role will be providing architectural support and infrastructure support to the management and infrastructure team. Since this role is geared towards a technical individual, the candidate should have most/all the required skills and experience in a wide range of technologies and not just Unified Communications.

The ideal candidate should possess advanced Unified Communications knowledge. The position requires intermediate experience using Microsoft Office products. Candidate must have good verbal and written communications skills as well as good customer service skills. Candidate must be able to handle multiple tasks with shifting priorities and possess good analytical skills. The candidate should be a fast learner, self-sufficient, and have a logical thought process to carrying out tasks/projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out maintenance/upgrades on all Infrastructure and endpoints
  • Own analysis of new technologies from start to finish
  • Provide support to Video Infrastructure team lead
  • Carry out security review of infrastructure and applications
  • Document procedures and processes
  • Create help files for support teams
  • Offer thoughts and solutions on improving current technology
  • Escalate issues to vendors
  • Provide metrics/reports for conferencing services
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced organisation.
About The Candidate

Required skills:

  • Ability to establish and maintain a client trust and confidence.
  • Basic knowledge of the financial services industry.
  • Advanced knowledge of Cisco services - Call Manager, Meeting Server, Expressway/VCS, MCU, Telepresence Server, TMS, Meeting Manager, Endpoints, Webex, Jabber, Unified Video Advantage, Webex Teams
  • Advanced knowledge of IPTV Streaming/Multicasting
  • Advanced knowledge of troubleshooting tools (WireShark etc)
  • Knowledge of Zoom, VBrick, H.232, SIP, NAT, Firewall Traversal, Room Booking Systems, VMware architecture, Microsoft Server Environment, Citrix VDI Environment, MAC OSX environment
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows environment (Windows 7 & Windows 10)
  • Knowledge of MobileIron (MDM) environment
  • Knowledge of Networking technologies (Switches, Routers, F5 load balancers, DNS, Firewalls, Proxy Servers, QoS)
  • Experience with Cisco TAC support (raising cases, escalating)

Desirable skills: 

  • Programming/Scripting experience (Visual Basic/Python etc)
  • Rest API knowledge (POSTMAN experience a plus)
  • Documentation skills (Visio a plus)
  • Application packaging and deployment
